In this video, Grant Thompson, aka “The King of Random”, shows us how diaper mush can turn into a super-absorbent potting soil for plants. The requirements are minimal. Simply add water to an ordinary disposable diaper. Its contents transform into a fiber-rich hydrogel that’s non-toxic and environment-friendly. Like a diaper, this hydrogel can hold and absorb a lot of liquid. Since it’s super-absorbent, this can cut down watering in half. This hydrogel is ready to be mixed with your regular potting soil. This super-absorbent soil is perfect for potted pants and for starting seeds in.
One adult-sized diaper can make over 12 cups of super-absorbent hydrogel. You can use baby or adult diapers.
